Heartland FM

With its initial transmission in 1992, Heartland FM is the longest running small scale independent radio station in the UK and, to this day, is still staffed almost exclusively by volunteers. Named after the area it serves, which is home to the geographical centre of mainland Scotland, the station broadcasts from Pitlochry but can be heard across the whole of Perthshire on 97.5 & 106.6 FM and now online via www.heartlandfm.co.uk.

If driving in Perthshire tune your car radio to Heartland FM and listen to the daytime entertaining, educational and general information programmes, with regular news, weather and traffic bulletins, you'll be kept up to date with what's going on in the area. Keep tuned during the evenings for specialist music shows ranging from Jazz, Dance, Country and Traditional Scottish music.

The station was voted Scottish New Music Radio Station of the Year in 2012 and finalist in the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce Business in the Community in 2012, more recently the Sunday Heart & Soul show has been shortlisted for the prestigious Jerusalem Award in 2013. The station also serves as a valuable community resource, offering many new opportunities to people who live in the area. For more information on the station, or to inquire about volunteering opportunities see the website.

It's useful to keep the studio text number in your phone 07537 40 23 48 and follow Heartland FM on Facebook and Twitter - as road updates can be sent to you on the go, plus you'll keep up with the news and could even request a song or two to help you on your journey!
