The Pitlochry area is nationally recognized as one of the UK's top locations for road and mountain bike cycling.

For road cyclists the Pitlochry area boasts hundreds of miles of quiet country roads, large circular routes taking in mountain top, ski resort passes testing the very fittest to forest runs for beginners and the whole family. Pitlochry is also the host town of the annual Etape Caledonia, an 85 mile closed road cycle race that starts and finishes in the town centre in May each year.

For mountain bikers it's difficult to know where to start! We have gentle off road forest and glen runs for an hour or so's beginner or family blast, to full all day epic's with large loops, mountain top climbs, flowing downhills and technical descents testing fitness, endurance and equipment.

The magnificent panoramic views, diverse wildlife and miles upon miles of little used on and off road routes throughout the area's 2,000 square miles are invigorating and a real tonic for the senses.

Perthshire is a destination for all seasons, but if you want stunning scenery and vivid colours, come cycling in autumn when the tree-lined hillsides and glens are resplendent with their coat of blazing copper and gold colours
